Hi, I'm Kristina, owner and head trainer at Free Spirit Hounds. With 28 years of experience in animal care, including dogs, cats, horses, and farm animals, I specialize in rare Japanese breeds like Kishu Ken, Akita Inu, and Shikoku Ken. As a breeder and enthusiast, I actively compete in conformation and various dog sports like Hog Baying, Barn Hunt, and Obedience. I'm also an AKC trainer with 10 years of experience, passionate about helping owners build strong, positive relationships with their dogs.

After COVID, my husband, Jason, joined as a full-time caretaker and trainer-in-training. Together, we focus on quality over quantity, keeping our daycare, boarding, and training groups small to ensure individualized care for each dog. At Free Spirit Hounds, we provide a calm, quiet environment where dogs can embrace their wild side while engaging in proper socialization, enrichment, and training.
